Iliana Diaz Lopez is an Argentinian sound artist and immersive experience designer based in London, UK. Founder and creative director of thefactorysound.com - Art and Design Lab. 

With over seventeen years of experience in the music and creative industries, Iliana’s multidisciplinary expertise encompasses classical singing, vocal coaching, sound design, composition, audio engineering, artistic direction, and project coordination. Her extensive skill set and leadership experience enable her to contribute innovatively across artistic and technical fields.

She holds degrees and postgraduate qualifications in Audiovisual Production, Specialising in Sound and Recording (UNLa), Classical Singing (UNSJ), Sound Design, Master in Sound Art (Universitat de Barcelona), and Video Game Narratives (UBA), reflecting her ability to integrate traditional and experimental media.

Her signature project, Cosmovisional Sound Stories®, was recognized in 2018 by the British Arts Council for its cultural and social impact. She was also distinguished as an Emerging Artist in Sound Design by Argentina’s Ministry of Culture and participated in prestigious residencies such as the Awasi Artist Immersion in Iguazú (2024). In 2025, she exhibited at the London Design Biennale – Somerset House, serving as project leader, sound artist, and immersive experience designer with Sur Andina, Argentina Pavilion. Presented by Madre Tierra Designers, a collective she co-founded and led creatively until the project’s completion in the LDB.

Iliana has work with prestigious institutions such as Argentina’s Ministry of Culture and Education, Angel Studios, UK (part of Abbey Road family - Universal Music Group), and Side Global PTW, UK (AAA video games). She performed as a vocalist -singer in major live productions, distinguished by her participation in The Rolling Stones’ 2016 Olé Tour in Argentina. Iliana has also managed and coordinated performances at notable venues like Teatro del Globo in Buenos Aires, gaining valuable experience in artist management and production coordination. Early in her career, she worked as a mastering and quality control assistant at a celebrated Buenos Aires studio recognized for its work with iconic Latin American artists such as Soda Stereo. For three years, Iliana worked as a producer, composer, sound designer, and engineer at La Abadía - Centro de Arte y Estudios Latinoamericanos, collaborating with leading artists and developing immersive sound projects. These roles are distinguished by her ability to blend artistic innovation with professional production excellence across diverse creative fields.

As a project leader, artist, and producer, she merges sound and music with narratives to create meaningful, innovative, cross-disciplinary experiences. Her work reflects a profound commitment to ecologies, cultures, heritage, and human beliefs, often developed in close collaboration with local communities and Indigenous peoples.

Iliana is currently focused on expanding her creative practice within collaborative and professional environments where she can contribute significantly to innovative sound and music projects.
